Drinking Water Quality

Safe Drinking Water Act

The provincial government, through the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), regulates municipal drinking water systems to ensure water safety and quality.

This includes:

  • Registering all municipal drinking water systems
  • Licensing system owners/operators
  • Authorizing operators to run and maintain drinking water systems
  • Issuing drinking water works permits to modify, repair or extend drinking water systems

Kingsville is a part of the Union Water Supply System (UWSS), which provides drinking water to approximately 65,000 residents within Essex, Kingsville, Lakeshore and Leamington. When you turn on your tap in Kingsville, you can be confident that your drinking water is among the best protected in the world. Read more about municipal drinking water systems in Ontario.

Kingsville's Annual Water Reports

Each year, the MECP inspects our water supply system. Annual Water Reports summarize Kingsville's test results and operating conditions for municipal drinking water systems. See MECP Inspection Reports and Annual Reports for the UWSS.
