Water Rates

The Town reviews and updates water and wastewater rates annually to ensure the long-term sustainability of these systems. Rate decisions are based on a Water and Wastewater Rate Study and the Water System Financial Plan required under Ontario Regulation 453/07.

The Town's water and wastewater rates are summarized below. Please refer to the Water and Wastewater Rate By-law for complete details.

All properties with a water service connection pay a fixed Quarterly Capital charge of $34.82 per three-month billing period plus the consumption rates noted above.

On February 24, 2023, the Union Water Supply System became separate legal entity, which is responsible for setting its own Water Treatment rates. The Town of Kingsville performs billing functions on behalf of Union Water Supply System Inc.

The Wholesale rate reflects the amount the Town pays to Union Water for the supply of the water.

The Distribution rate finances the operating and administrative costs associated with maintaining the Town's distribution network.

The fixed Quarterly Capital charge finances the replacement of water mains and other capital expenditures.

The same rates apply to all property types, whether residential, commercial, industrial or agricultural.

One cubic metre = 1,000 litres = 220 gallons
