Garbage and Recycling

Updates to Collection Programs in 2026

On January 1, 2026 Kingsville moved to single-stream recycling with the rest of Windsor and Essex County. Learn about the changes on Circular Material's website.

In November, 2026 Kingsville will begin weekly curbside collection of food waste and organics. The Green Bin program is an initiative of County of Essex and managed by the Essex Windsor Solid Waste Authority.

The 2026 Municipal Collection Calendar is available in various formats, digital, paper, and through the Recycle Coach App.

Collection times

Collection times vary depending on the season and the amount of waste being collected. A long weekend or holiday will result in an earlier-than-usual collection time.

Please place your garbage in a suitable container and have it at the roadside or curb the night before your collection day. Avoid placing garbage in containers that are:

  • Oversized or weighing over 20 kg (45 lbs)
  • Plastic shopping bags
  • Cardboard boxes

The recycling program in Kingsville and the County of Essex is collected by Green for Life (GFL) and administered by Circular Materials. Your recycling is collected every other Wednesday. Please have your recycling bin out before 6:00 am. Download the FREE Recycle Coach app at the Apple Store or Google Play to receive reminders about collection dates, notifications about collection delays, and information about sorting.

Why was my Recycling Bypassed?

Your recycling may be left behind if:

  • It contains any type of plastic bag, including those with a recycling symbol (loop)
  • It includes non-collectable items that need to be dropped off at the depot (such as chemical waste or electronics)
  • It's overfilled
  • It's in a container that's incompatible with the recycling program

You will see an "oops" sticker on your bin if your recycling is purposely bypassed.

Report a Missed Collection

If you think your recycling was accidentally missed, please contact GFL at 1-844-415-4351 or WeRecycling@gflenv.com. To escalate, contact Circular Materials at 1-877-667-2626 or customerservice@circularmaterials.ca.
