Noise Permit

By-law 69-2003, as amended, regulates noise in the Town of Kingsville, including general restrictions on certain types of noise and time-based restrictions on certain activities. Some activities within the Town may require a Noise Permit, such as special events featuring amplified sound or overnight or weekend construction.

Noise Permits are for large special events and gatherings. Common examples include backyard weddings, large family reunions, and outdoor gatherings with live bands. You do not need a Noise Permit for ordinary social gatherings at private residences, such as backyard barbecues or typical birthday parties.

Fee: There is a $50.00 non-refundable application fee, payable at the time of application.

Timeline: Requests must be submitted at least 30 days before the event. Late submissions risk not being processed before the event date.

Notifications: Please note that upon approval of a request, the applicant will need to notify impacted neighbours of the approved Noise Permit by letter or in person, including such details as the date and time and duration of the event, the type of noise, and whom to contact in the event of a complaint.
