The next Municipal Election and School Board will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Running for municipal office is a meaningful way to serve your community and help shape local decisions. Before deciding to run, potential candidates are encouraged to review the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as well as the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing's Candidates’ Guide (the 2026 Candidates' Guide will be released later this year; the 2022 Candidates' Guide is currently available for reference).
Serving on Council can be a rewarding experience, but it also requires a significant time commitment. Kingsville’s Council currently meets twice per month, and additional special meetings, such as budget deliberations and strategic planning sessions, may be scheduled throughout the year. Further, members of Council may also be appointed to internal and external boards and committees that require additional meeting attendance.
