Property Standards Appeals

A recipient may appeal an Order to Remedy issued by a By-law Enforcement Officer to the Committee of Adjustment and Appeals (which also acts as the Property Standards Committee for the Town) by filing the Notice of Appeal Form and fee within 14 days in person or by registered mail to:

The Property Standards Committee has only the following powers under the Ontario Building Code Act:

  • Confirm the order to demolish or repair
  • Rescind the order
  • Modify the order
  • Extend the deadline for compliance

Please Note: The fee to file an appeal is $100.00 and is non-refundable. This is set as per the Town’s Fees and Charges By-law and is subject to change. Payment can be made in person or by cheque payable to the Town of Kingsville.

Short-Term Rental Licensing Appeals

An applicant or licensee may appeal a decision of the Clerk to the Committee of Adjustment and Appeals by filing a Notice of Appeal Form and fee within ten days of the Clerk’s decision to refuse to issue a Short-Term Rental Licence, or revoke or suspend a Short-Term Rental Licence.

The Committee of Adjustment and Appeals has the power under the Short-Term Rental By-law 82-2024to confirm, amend, or substitute the decision of the Clerk.

Please Note: The fee to file an appeal is $100.00 and is non-refundable. This is set as per the Town’s Fees and Charges By-law and is subject to change.

Boarding, Lodging and Rooming House Licensing Appeals

An applicant or licensee may appeal a decision of the Clerk to the Committee of Adjustment and Appeals by filing a Notice of Appeal Form and fee within ten days of the Clerk’s decision to refuse to issue a Boarding, Lodging and Rooming House Licence, or revoke or suspend a Boarding, Lodging and Rooming House Licence.

The Committee of Adjustment and Appeals has the power under the Boarding, Lodging and Rooming House (BLRH) By-law 03-2024to confirm, amend, or substitute the decision of the Clerk.
