There's Still Time to Run in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election
Are you interested in serving your community? There is still time to file your nomination and become a candidate in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.
Nominations are currently open for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor, and School Board Trustee. Candidates must file their nomination in person with the Clerk or designate at the Town of Kingsville.
The deadline to file is Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Municipal government plays a vital role in shaping the future of our community.
To file a nomination, candidates must provide:

A completed Nomination Paper (Form 1)

An Endorsement of Nomination (Form 2) with at least 25 original signatures (required for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councillor candidates)

The applicable nomination filing fee:

$200 for Mayor

$100 for Deputy Mayor, Councillor, or School Board Trustee

Acceptable identification
Original signatures are required on all forms. Digital signatures will not be accepted.
Candidates may also authorize an agent to file on their behalf. Agents must provide written authorization from the candidate, all required nomination materials, and their own identification.
Appointments are preferred but not required and can be booked by emailing clerks@kingsville.ca or calling 519-733-2305 extension 223. Appointments are approximately 30 minutes and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
