Public Information Session on Proposed Institute for Forensic Taphonomy
The Town of Kingsville, in partnership with the University of Windsor, invites residents to attend an in‑person Public Information Session about a proposed Institute for Forensic Taphonomy in Kingsville. The session will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre, 103 Park Street.
The session includes a presentation about the proposed facility, followed by an open forum where attendees may ask questions and share comments.
About the Proposed Facility
Forensic taphonomy is the scientific study of how human remains break down after death. Facilities dedicated to this work play an important role in research, education, and training that support medico‑legal death investigations, including missing persons cases, homicide investigations, mass disaster response, and war crime investigations. The proposed institute would allow researchers and students to advance knowledge in this field while contributing to improved investigative practices.
