The Town of Kingsville and the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary will host events as part of the 57th annual Migration Festival, taking place Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18.

Migration Festival is a celebration of our town’s heritage, bird migration, nature conservation and Jack Miner, and serves as a signature event for artists.

Here’s everything happening throughout the weekend:

The Great Migration Kick-Off 

• Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre
• Concert featuring performances by Stompbox Whisky and Barbara Anne starting at 6:00 pm
• Pulled pork dinner
• $20.00 per person. Purchase in advance at Great Migration Kick-off

Saturday, October 17

• Lakeside Park
  
  
• Migration Festival Walking Parade at 10:00 am (Register to join the parade)
• Family activities including pumpkin carving, Border City Barkers, birds of prey demonstrations, lawn games and colouring activities, train rides, juggling workshop, cake walk bingo, Wild Goose Chase Scavenger Hunt, nail driving competition and more from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm
• Migration Marketplace featuring vendors, artisans and local makers from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

• Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary

• Guided tours, children's activities, a straw maze, yard games, a trout fishing pond, variety of arts, crafts and specialty vendors from 10:00 pm to 6:00 pm
• Third Annual Beer Market with local breweries, food and artisan vendors and live music from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Sunday, October 18

• Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary 
  
  
• Pancake breakfast from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Migration Festival Classic Car Show from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (Registration at 9:00 am)
• Guided tours, children's activities, a straw maze, yard games, a trout fishing pond, variety of arts, crafts and specialty vendors until 3:00 pm
• Birds of Prey demonstrations presented by Canadian Raptor Conservancy 

• Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre

• Great Migration Paint Out Art Show and Sale from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Award presentation at 4:00 pm) 
  See artwork created by en plein air artists over the weekend, enjoy apps and refreshments, purchases your favourite pieces, and celebrate contest winners

Parking: To help reduce congestion and make getting to the event easier, attendees are encouraged to use active transportation whenever possible. Limited parking is available at Mettawas Park, the Lions Club parking lot, and other municipal parking lots throughout Kingsville. Please note that the Herrington Street parking lot will be closed to the public for the duration of the event.
