The Town of Kingsville is set to receive up to $8.4 million through the Development Charge Reduction Program (DCRP) to support housing-enabling infrastructure in our community. The funding was announced today by the governments of Ontario and Canada as part of a broader investment in municipalities across Essex County.
The investment recognizes Kingsville’s commitment to reducing development charges by 50 per cent for all housing types from March 30, 2026, to March 31, 2029. Funding through the program supports critical infrastructure needed for growing communities, including water and wastewater systems, roads, bridges, fire stations, libraries and recreation centres.
"This investment by the Ontario and federal governments will provide significant support for critical infrastructure in our community. We have a strong working relationship with our local MPP, Anthony Leardi, and our continued advocacy for Kingsville is delivering results," said Mayor Dennis Rogers. "This funding will support our current residents, while enabling new housing for those who want to call Kingsville home. By working together with our provincial and federal partners, we can achieve great things for our community."
