The Town of Kingsville offers two Flooding Protection Subsidy Programs to help eligible homeowners reduce the risk of basement and backyard flooding. These programs provide partial reimbursement for approved flood‑protection improvements completed by licensed professionals.

Backyard Flooding Protection Subsidy

This program helps offset the cost of installing a new rear‑yard catch basin to improve drainage.

Subsidy Details

• Up to 50% of eligible costs, to a maximum of $2,500
• A building permit is required

Not Covered

• Replacement of an existing rear‑yard catch basin
• Upgrades to an existing rear-yard catch basin
• Addition of another rear-yard catch basins
• Work performed for which a permit cannot be obtained

Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy

This program supports improvements that help prevent sewer back‑ups and basement flooding.

Subsidy Options

• Up to 50% of the cost to install backwater valve(s) by a licensed plumber (maximum $750) Permit required
• Up to 50% of the cost to install a sump pump to disconnect foundation drains from floor drains (maximum $750)
• Up to 50% of the cost to install both a backwater valve and sump pump (maximum $1,500)

Not Covered

• Replacement or upgrade of an existing sump pump
• Installation of an additional sump pump
• Installation of a sump pump when foundation drains are already separated from floor drain or sanitary sewer
• Work performed for which a permit cannot be obtained

These programs are available to homeowners within the Town of Kingsville. Applicants must have no outstanding amounts owing to the Town (such as overdue taxes or payments).

All eligible work must be completed by a licensed contractor or licensed/master plumber.
