Council Brief from the May 25, 2026 Meeting

At its May 25, 2026 meeting, Council: 

  1. Approved the further extension of the Part-Lot Control exemption (By-law 44-2023) for Lots 16, 18, 20–22, and 25–27 (inclusive) on Plan 12M-693. These lots will continue to be exempt from Section 50(5) of the Planning Act, helping to support ongoing development. Administration has been directed to send the required by-law to the County of Essex for final approval and to complete registration as required. 

  1. Approved a Part-Lot Control Exemption (By-law 35-2026) for Lots 11–13 and 19–20 (inclusive) on Plan 12M-689. These lots will be exempt from Section 50(5) of the Planning Act, supporting continued development. Administration has been directed to submit the by-law and the Part-lot Control Extension application to the County of Essex for final approval and to complete registration as required.  

  1. Awarded the contract for the reconstruction of Graham Sideroad to Sherway Contracting (Windsor) Limited in the amount of $356,803 (excluding HST). The Mayor and Clerk have also been authorized to sign the necessary agreement.  

  1. Endorsed the appointment of Kirsten Proctor, part owner of Towne Emporium, to the Board of Management of Kingsville BIA, effective May 13, 2026.
