Kingsville Reminds Residents to Keep Dogs Leashed

Three small dogs at a dog park

The Town of Kingsville reminds residents that all dogs must remain on their leashes in public, except when visiting the Town’s off-leash dog parks on Conservation Boulevard and Road 2 East.

Leashes help prevent potentially dangerous situations, including dog biting incidents, and can help keep dogs from jumping up on people they encounter or engaging in fights with other animals. If you see a dog off-leash, please contact our Animal Control Officer at 519-796-3013. The fine for letting a dog run at large on public property is $100.00.

Dog bites should be reported to the Ontario Provincial Police, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and Town of Kingsville for further investigation by our Animal Control Officer. Information is on the Town’s websiteathttps://www.kingsville.ca/en/town-hall/animal-control.aspx. We can only issue a muzzle order when bites are reported.

The Town also reminds residents that By-Law 31-2000 requires all dog owners to clean up after their dogs in municipally owned areas, including parks, sidewalks, and boulevards. Failure to do so can carry a fine of $105 dollars.

Thank you for doing your part to be a responsible dog owner in our community.
