Kingsville Reminds Residents of the Importance of Responsible Pet Ownership

The Town of Kingsville encourages all residents to practice responsible pet ownership by leashing their dogs and picking up after them to help maintain a clean, welcoming environment for everyone.

Municipal By-Law 103-2003 as amended, outlines the licensing, regulating, and registration of dogs within the Town. Keeping dogs leashed when outside the owner’s home helps protect the public, other animals, and your pet from potential injury. Dogs may only be off-leash in the designated dog parks located on Conservation Boulevard and Road 2 East.

Leashes help prevent dangerous situations such as dog bites, dogs jumping on people, or fights with other animals.

Dog bites should be reported to the Kingsville Ontario Provincial Police, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and Town of Kingsville for further investigation by the Animal Control Officer. More information is available on the Animal Services page. A muzzle order can only be issued when dog bites are reported to the Town’s office.

The Town also reminds residents that By-Law 31-2000 requires all dog owners to clean up after their dog in all municipally owned areas, including parks, sidewalks, and boulevards. Failure to do so can carry a fine of up to five hundred ($500) dollars.

Thank you for helping to keep our community clean and safe.
