Kingsville Encourages Residents to Prepare for the 2026 Municipal Election
The Town of Kingsville is preparing for the upcoming municipal election, Monday, October 26, 2026. Kingsville is holding a traditional in‑person election with paper ballots, supported by optical scan vote tabulators.
All eligible voters should review important election dates and verify their voter information.
Key Dates
- Regional Pre-Election Municipal Candidates Information Session
- Wednesday, April 8, 2026 (hosted by the County of Essex)
- Nomination Period for Candidates:
- Opens Friday, May 1, 2026 and Closes Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, candidates are only permitted to begin campaigning on the day on which the clerk receives his or her nomination for the office.
- Advance Voting Days: Wednesday, October 7, Saturday, October 17 and Saturday, October 24, 2026
- Voting Day: Monday, October 26, 2026
Kingsville voters will elect:
- One Mayor
- One Deputy Mayor
- Five Councillors (at-large)
- One Trustee each for the following school boards: Greater Essex County District School Board, Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde, and Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence
Verify or Update Your Voter Information
For the first time, Elections Ontario is responsible for maintaining the Voters' List for municipal elections. Residents should verify, update, or add their information as early as possible. Visit registertovoteon.ca.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) remains responsible for maintaining school support information. To verify or update your school support, visit mpac.ca/schoolsupport.
