At its March 17, 2025 meeting, Council:

  • Approved zoning changes for the property at 197 Lansdowne Avenue, shifting it from “Industrial” to “Commercial.” Council also updated the Zoning By-law to allow for fewer parking spaces (42) and to exempt trucks and trailers from needing a paved area for turning.

  • Approved a Subdivision Agreement for 175 Wigle Avenue, which will have 18 blocks for 36 semi-detached homes, and one block for a temporary cul-de-sac. A new public road will be named Sarkis Street. The zoning for this area was updated to fit the development.

  • Directed staff to plan and install a traffic light at the intersection of Woodycrest Avenue and Jasperson Drive, and to make a formal request to the Greater Essex County District School Board to widen their driveway at 1620 Jasperson Drive.

  • Authorized the Mayor and CAO to enter into a five-year lease with South Essex Community Council (SECC) for a 2,320 sq. ft. space in Lions Hall.

  • Granted the Kingsville BIA permission to use up to $24,550 (plus tax) from their reserve fund to enhance advertising and promotional efforts.

  • Authorized the Mayor and Clerk to sign a Joint Use Agreement with the Greater Essex County District School Board for facilities at Erie Migration District School.
