Changes to the Blue/Red Box Recycling Program Coming August 28th, 2024
The Blue/Red Box Recycling Program is transitioning to a Producer model. The Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority (EWSWA) is looking to remind its residents to continue to show their same commitment to recycling and participate.
Residents should follow these program tips to continue to receive collection:
- Set-out recycling by 6 am on your normal scheduled day
- Set-out Acceptable Materials only. Some materials such as hardcover and softcover books, paint aerosols/cans, and used motor oil will no longer be picked up. Instead these items can be dropped off these items for free at the EWSWA Depot.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest residential recycling changes, download the Recycle Coach App. Download for FREE on the App Store for Apple users and Google Play for Android Users
- Visit the Circular Materials website for more information
As of August 28, 2024, residents are to contact GFL directly for service inquiries, issues, bins, carts or for new builds/homeowners via1-844-415-4351 or WeRecycling@gflenv.com.
Reminder
There is no set collection time for recycling. Collection can occur anytime between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm on your scheduled day, so be sure to set-out your recycling by 6:00 am on your normal scheduled Collection Day!
