Apply for a Building Permit

The Town of Kingsville uses a cloud-based e-permitting software called Cloudpermit. This system digitalizes the building permit process and will eventually help us go completely paperless. With Cloudpermit, you can:

  • Apply for all types of building permits online
  • Pay for a building permit using a credit card - convenience charge applies (coming soon)
  • Check the status of an application (change of application status or additional information requests will automatically be emailed to the applicant)
  • Schedule or cancel inspections
  • Check inspection results
  • Submit and request changes to an existing permit

How to Submit a Building Permit Application

Register your Cloudpermit Account

To begin, you will need to create a Cloudpermit account. Cloudpermit currently supports Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. Once registered, you can apply for permits and track their progress.

Need additional assistance? Our Building Department is happy to answer your questions in person by appointment or by phone. 

For permits processed through Cloudpermit (Permits applied for after January 1, 2022):

  • Applicants must be registered as a user in Cloudpermit
  • Applicants will receive a "Request to Submit Payment" in Cloudpermit and must make payment in person
  • Payment receipt and Permit Packages are downloadable immediately upon payment

For in-person payments or permits applied for before January 1, 2022:

  • Once you have been notified by the Building Department (by phone or by Cloudpermit notification) that your permit is ready for payment, you can visit the Municipal Office during regular business hours to make your payment. We accept the following forms of payment in person:
    • Cheque
    • Debit
    • Cash

Building Service Fees

Note: Permits reviewed and/or issued and not paid for or picked up will be charged a fee of $330.00 for Part 9 residential properties and $825.00 for Part 3 commercial, industrial and agricultural properties. Engineering Services requires a $2,000.00 Damage Deposit upon the issuance of all Building Permits in accordance with Schedule B, save and except for permits issued for: pools, sheds or building structures under 225 square feet, signs, decks, septic systems, solar panels and minor interior renovations.
