Strategic Plan
Town of Kingsville Strategic Plan
The Strategic Plan is a guidance document which will assist the Town of Kingsville from 2017-2022.
The process of preparing the Town of Kingsville strategic plan commenced in the spring of 2016 with a number of public open houses, surveys and workshops that were held between Council and Municipal Staff with the purpose of developing a common plan for the community.
The information gathered at these workshops guided both Council and Staff in the development of the Kingsville Strategic Plan document. The Town of Kingsville's Strategic Plan identifies the community values, which require preservation and improvement. In summary, the Strategic Plan contains nine main objectives and goals where Council has developed strategies, action plans and estimated budgets for final approval as follows:
- Promote the betterment, self-image and attitude of the community
- To promote a safe community
- Improve recreational and cultural facilities and opportunities within the Town of Kingsville
- Support growth of the business community
- Effectively manage corporate resources and maximize performance in day-to-day operations
- To become a leader in sustainable infrastructure renewal and development
- Manage residential growth through sustainable planning
Annually staff develop business plans to move the strategic plan forward and to support our vision statement of:
Kingsville will be a friendly and safe community: Proud of our past, excited about our future.
Service Delivery Review
The Town of Kingsville is committed to delivering exceptional value to our residents and business owners.
In 2020, the Town received a grant through the Ontario Government’s Municipal Modernization Program to commission a Service Delivery Review by an independent third party consulting firm.
This Service Delivery Review resulted in 2 major reports;
First, the Consultant performed a detailed Current State Assessment. This report benchmarks the Town against comparable municipalities to identify the greatest opportunities for improvement.
Secondly, based on the findings in the Current State Assessment, the Consultant issued their Service Delivery Review Final Report which provides a number of detailed recommendations over 3 priority areas;
1) Strategic Governance and Decision-Making Structures
2) Asset Management Planning
3) Lean Six Sigma Business Process Reviews; Procurement, Work Order Processing, and Planning Application Processing
The findings and recommendations outlined in these reports will help guide the Town’s strategic planning and decision making in the years to come.
