Budget
A Municipal Budget is prepared on an annual basis to determine the operating and capital funding requirements for the year.
The following reports and studies contribute to the preparation of the annual budget:
2026 Draft Budget
The 2026 Draft Budget reflects our commitment to building a stronger, safer, and more vibrant community. Visit our citizen engagement portal to provide input on the draft budget.
Given the financial challenges in this year's Draft Budget, Administration is recommending no new staffing positions are added in 2026. However, these steps will have an impact on service levels and future operating budgets as we attempt to right-size our staffing to meet growing community service expectations. Administration has also not included in this Draft Budget some requests by several departments for additional operational funding and capital projects.

Past Budgets
Financial Statements
Financial statements are prepared on annual basis in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Standards. The annual financial statements are audited by an independent accounting firm.
If you require information from previous years, please contact our Finance Department.
Financial Information Return
We also prepare an annual Financial Information Return (FIR) for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH). This report provides a basis for comparison across the 444 municipalities in Ontario.
