Water Conservation
The Town of Kingsville is committed to the preservation of water and the protection of its water supply system.
Lawn Watering By-law
To ensure our water distribution system has enough water to meet the needs of users, (including fire protection, medical health, sanitation and personal drinking uses) the Town of Kingsville has a Lawn Watering By-Law that outlines days and times you can water your lawn, determined by the last digit of your address. Please help us maintain service levels and avoid a total water ban on outside water use by following these important guidelines. Failure to comply may result in fines.
Lawn Watering Restrictions in Kingsville:
- Lawn or garden watering is only permitted on alternate days. Municipal addresses ending with 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 can water on even calendar days and those ending with 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 can water on odd calendar days.
- Lawn or garden watering is only allowed between 5am and 8am and between 6pm and midnight on permitted days.
- Residents with a newly seeded or sodded lawn can apply for a permit temporarily exempting them from these restrictions.
- If the demands on the water supply and distribution system become so severe that the level of service is threatened, a total ban on outside water use will be declared.
- Breaking of these rules may result in a fine up to $5,000.
