We want to thank everyone who made the Migration Festival 2023 possible!!
The 55th annual Migration Festival will be held on Thursday, October 17 to Sunday, October 20 in 2024. Kingsville welcomes the community to a celebration of migration, heritage, nature conservation and Jack Miner.
Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary will also be hosting various activities throughout the course of the weekend. See what Jack Miner's is doing.
The Art Society of Kingsville is hosting "Images & Interpretations of Nature: The Art of Brianne Taggart & Kelly S. Hopkins" art exhibit from October 2nd to 27th, 2024 at the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre.

Great Migration Paint Out |

Thursday, October 17, 2024 - Sunday, October 20, 2024 Calling all Artists! The Great Migration Paint Out is a four-day "en Plein air" painting exhibition and competition starting Thursday, October 17, 2024 to Sunday, October 20. It includes three different competitions and a Show and Sale exhibition. The Great Migration Paint Out - Adult Competition Painting en plein air in Kingsville from Thursday, October 17 to Saturday, October 19.
Early bird registration is $35 until Thursday, September 5, 2024. After that date, registration cost is $55.00. Registration is available here.
Two Hour Quick Paint Competition The two-hour Quick Paint competition will be held at three locations on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
It is $10.00 to participate.

The Great Migration Paint Out - Children and Youth Competitions - REGISTRATION CLOSED Outdoor painting, "en Plein air" art competition for children and youth. The Children and Youth competitions of the Great Migration Paint Out will take place from September 28 to October 11. You can register until September 27, 2024 to be a part of the contest. The art created must be submitted, in person, to the Kingsville Arena (1741 Jasperson Dr, Kingsville, ON N9Y 2E4) by October 11, 2024 by 4:30 pm.

Sunday, October 20, 2024, 1 pm to 5 pm Great Migration Paint Out Art Exhibition "Show and Sale" at the Grovedale Arts & Culture Centre (103 Park St.) The Great Migration Paint Out entries will be on display at the Grovedale Arts & Culture Centre for judging and many will be available to purchase. Meet the artists and vote for your favourite piece for the People’s Choice Award, while enjoying music, finger food, and a cash bar. Award presentations begin at 4:00 pm. |

The Great Migration Kick-Off | ||||
Friday, October 18, 2024, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Grovedale Arts & Culture Centre (103 Park St.)
Mark your calendar for the 'Great Migration Kick-off'. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Join us for a chili dinner, hosted by the 2nd Kingsville Scouts, and cake. At 6:30 p.m., Jody Raffoul will perform. The cost to attend is $15+HST, which covers the light dinner and performance. A cash bar is available at the venue. |

Parade | ||||
Saturday, October 19, 2024, 10:00 am at Kingsville Downtown (Wigle Avenue, Main Street East, Division Street South) Registration for the parade is available now. The parade route will leave from the intersection of Wigle Ave, turning west onto Main St. and then turning south onto Division St. The parade ends at Mill St.
The following roads will be closed off for a staging area before the parade, from 8:00 am to 10:15 am.
The following roads will be closed off for a destaging area for half an hour after the parade:
NEW: There will be a sensory-friendly portion of the parade during the staging period. From 9:40 am to 9:55 am, those with sensory-friendly needs are welcome to walk down the sidewalk of Wigle Ave. to see the parade floats up close, without sounds on.
The parade needs over 30 volunteers to support the barricades along the parade route. Please let us know if you can help support this event by registering to be a volunteer. Must be 18+ years to operate a barricade alone, or 14+ years with an adult. |

Meet at Lions Park after the parade for fun, performances, and games. - Jangles the Clown - Kingsville Express train rides - Border City Barkers - Birds of Prey Show with Kingsport Environmental Falconry - Story Telling with Monica - Mad Science demonstration - Pumpkin Carving - Fall Trivia and Colouring - Games with the Optimist Club of Kingsville - Interactive Fun with Jack Miner's Bird Sanctuary - Kingsville Lions Club BBQ - UMEI Lightning Robotics - Build a LEGO robot and drive it on a simple course!
New this year for our youth is a "Wild Goose Adventure Challenge"; our local twist on The Amazing Race. Registration and details are available here, registration will close on October 16, 2024.
There will also be a sensory tent for anyone who needs a quiet place to take a break.
Jack Miner's Migratory Bird Sanctuary is also running activities.
