First Local Reverse Parade Generates Incredible Yet Staggering Turnout

Posted On Sunday November 22, 2020

Last night, the Town of Kingsville hosted its first-ever drive-thru Santa Claus Parade with overwhelming results. While many were impressed with the experience, the Town acknowledges there were long waits and traffic rerouting concerns, some of which stemmed from miscommunication on the municipality’s part. We apologize to anyone who had a poor experience, and we thank them for their feedback and patience.

The Drive-Thru Santa Claus parade concept was the first of its kind held in Essex County and represented a necessary pivot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we expected a crowd, the ultimate response was incredible yet staggering.  Once again, we are amazed by the strong sense of community in this beautiful town. Thanks to the Windsor Parade Corporation, the Fantasy of Lights committee, the sponsors, and everyone involved in reimagining, organizing, and executing this drive-thru as a COVID-safe alternative for our neighbours, friends, and family.

To everyone who came out, thank you for helping to keep this important holiday tradition alive. We hope you will continue to embrace the Fantasy of Lights Festival by browsing the light displays at various locations throughout our communities of Cottam, Ruthven and Kingsville.
