Roadwork – Spruce Street South Milling and Paving

Posted On Friday July 19, 2019

Please be advised that Spruce Street South, from Main to Mill, will be closed to all but local traffic starting Monday July 22nd for Asphalt Milling and on Tuesday July 23rd for Asphalt Paving. Should inclement weather occur, this may extend to Wednesday, July 24th.  Access to the homes and businesses will be controlled by Traffic Control Persons.

Access to your driveways and adjoining roads may be restricted for periods of time during the workday with up to a 100mm (4”) drop to the road. Should this be a concern, it would be advised to park on a street in an area that does not have parking restrictions in place. Weather permitting, this will be reduced to a 50mm (2”) drop at the end of each workday until surface asphalt is installed.

Street parking will be restricted in the work zone and signs will be posted the day before at a minimum.  Access to side streets of Pearl and Mill will be restricted during the workday with only local traffic provided access by Traffic Control Persons

Delays should be expected from time to time however we will do our best to keep this inconvenience to a minimum.

Regarding public safety, it should be stressed that construction sites have many potential hazards and extreme caution should be exercised by all.
