North Talbot Road Closing for Road Resurfacing

North Talbot Road is closing to through traffic between Cameron Sideroad and Road 10 for road surfacing on September 11, 2023. The closure is expected to take two days, weather permitting. This work is part of Kingsville's annual Rural Road Program, where we use Street Scan data and factors such as traffic volume and road use to prioritize road rehabilitation projects. Within all of Essex County, garbage collection is a service provided by the lower tier municipalities. Each lower tier municipality, such as the Town of Kingsville, decides on the level of service it wants to provide (example: weekly garbage pickup) and is responsible for making arrangements and paying for that service.

Special Garbage Collection

Due to the impact of recent storm events experienced on August 23 and 24, GFL Environmental Inc. will be collecting additional garbage during regular pick-up for those who have experienced flooding. Additional garbage, including large items such as carpet and furniture, will be collected on the following dates:
If you have Tuesday collection: August 29, 2023 and September 5, 2023
If you have Friday collection: September 1, 2023 and September 8, 2023

Outdoor Illuminated Commercial Signs Impacted by Changes to Property Standards By-law

To address light pollution, Kingsville Town Council has approved changes to the Town's Property Standards By-law that will require businesses to turn off any outdoor illuminated commercial signs between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. This new restriction comes after considering recommendations from the Town's Lighting Working Group, established by Town Council in 2022.
Businesses will still be allowed to have an illuminated sign in their interior window but must turn off any illuminated commercial signs...
Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Rescinded

Dr. Mehdi Aloosh, Medical Officer of Health, has rescinded a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for the Town of Kingsville, specifically for the identified area below:
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit advises users that consecutive water samples have been taken and meet drinking water quality standards. Health Unit staff will continue to work closely with Union Water Supply System and will ensure consumers are notified of any water quality changes.
