Kingsville Adopts Short-Term Rental (STR) By-Law

Kingsville Town Council adopted a By-law to license, regulate and govern Short-Term Rentals at its November 4, 2024 Regular Meeting.
Short-term rentals (STRs) are structures, or part thereof, used for temporary lodging for a rental period of twenty-eight (28) consecutive days or less in exchange for payment. STRs include bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels and inns. Short-term accommodations without payment are not considered STRs.

Kingsville Town Council will consider amendments to the Fees and Charges Bylaw and the Water and Sewage Rate Bylaw at its regular Council meeting on Monday, November 25, 2024. The meeting begins at 6:00 pm.
Charging fees for services that benefit specific users helps us reduce the burden on taxpayers as a whole. We review our fees and charges annually to ensure they are set at the appropriate levels to maintain efficiencies in the municipality.

At its November 4, 2024 meeting, Council:
- Approved the Short Term Rental By-law and requested that the By-law and fees be reviewed in one (1) year. Council further approved certain licensing fees to be included in the 2025 Fees and Charges By-law and authorized Administration to submit a schedule of set fines to the Ministry of the Attorney General for approval.

- Approved a Consent Application B-2024-23 to sever an existing surplus dwelling, subject to certain conditions.

Planning Item Withdrawn From the November 4, 2024 Council Meeting

The applicant has formally withdrawn their proposal for a zoning by-law amendment for the Draft Plan of Subdivision at 175 Wigle. The rezoning application will not be heard at the November 4, 2024 Council meeting.
We are now holding Council and Committee meetings at the Unico Hall Community Centre, 37 Beech Street.
