Cottam Horse Show & Tractor Pull - Sunday, September 19th, 2010

On Sunday September 19th, the Rotary Club of Cottam is sponsoring the annual Fall Festival and Horse Show. The Rotary Club has decided to focus on the Fall Festival and Horse Show as our area's 1st fall destination. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Cottam/Kingsville, there is something for everyone in the longest going festival in Cottam. Most activities are free and all are family friendly.

Once again, the Fall Festival is being included in September 19th Essex County's Farm Hiker's Tours, orgranize3d by Anne Angler for the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.

An 8:00 am community breakfast at Ridgeview Park Pavilion starts this jam packed day. At 10:00 am and competing throughout the day for first place ribbons will be the variety of horse shoes at Ridgeview Park in Cottam. Local celebrities and politicians are again vying for Essex County's Best Chili award at this first fall festival. From 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm our Chili challengers look forward to the popular vote for the area's best chili! Meet your favourite Kingsville Council member, politician and local celebrities as you taste their chili. $5.00 buys all the chili you can eat under the Ridgeview Park Pavilion.

Junior Rotarian have lots of games, minnow races and a book sale to keep children engaged. Rotarian Ed Gibbs masterminded the skill testing for the tractor rodeo for all ages - no experience is necessary for this safe, free activity.

After the annual Parade from the Anglican Church to Ridgeview Park which starts at 12:30 pm and goes through Cottam, you can wander from the Fire Hall displays to the Pavilion to sample local wines from Mastronardi and Aleksanders or enjoy the Fry Guys' famous deep fried spuds. Visitors can wander amongst the vendors and purchase local products or crafts.

The Fall Festival offers a variety of skills competitions, wine tasting, celebrity chili cook-off, food booths, a market and of course, the horses. All monies raised will be used locally to support Rotary programs such as youth scholarships, seniors' programs and the Cottam Rotary Park. The Rotary Fall Festival and Horse Show runs from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday September 19th.
