The Town of Kingsville has passed an Open Burning By-law. The by-law permits only a small, confined fire, which is supervised at all times, not affecting neighbouring properties and used to cook food. Unless your property is zoned "agricultural", no other fires are permitted.
On lands zoned agricultural, a farmer may burn crop materials only. Examples include: brush, wheat stubble, grass. The fire department must be notified two hours prior to burning, and the fire must be supervised by an adult at all times and not affecting neighbouring properties. The burning of rubbish and waste materials is not permitted.
Upon receiving a written warning, should this practice continue, you may be fined up to $1,000 per offence. Please assist us un keeping the environment safe and our equipment available for actual emergencies. We appreciate your help.
Please contact the office of the Kingsville Fire Department should you have any questions.
