Animal Control

The Animal Control Officer is appointed by Council and is responsible for seizing and impounding dogs.  He may be contacted to respond to the following situations:

  • dogs running at large;
  • lost dogs;
  • dangerous dogs;
  • live trap raccoons, skunks and other wild-life on a call-out basis only (excludes feral cats);
  • to remove and dispose of dead animals found on municipal roadways

Dog Adoption

Dog adoptions from the Kingsville/Leamington pound are coordinated through St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology.  The College is an accredited Veterinary Technician Program facility with a registered teaching veterinary hospital.  Viewing of the dogs are by appointment at St. Clair College.  For further information, please visit the St. Clair College website.
